In our continuous efforts to reduce violence in our cities, University of MD Shock Trauma Violence Prevention Program are once again putting a call out to young artists to come up with a visual art concept captioned with words to reflect the idea for our theme ART AGAINST VIOLENCE. This contest is a city-wide campaign using visual art to inspire our city and state into reducing hostile risk taking behavior towards one another and ourselves. All participating entries will have their works displayed visibility on the hallways of University Of MD Hospital for the public’s viewing throughout National Violence Prevention Month in March.
Entries will receive incentives and gift cards from our sponsors and the three top winners will be rewarded with additional cash prizes of;
$500.00 for 1st place
$250.00 for 2nd place
$150.00 for 3rd place
The deadline for submissions will end on Friday, March 9th and voting will begin on Monday, March 12th and will end on Monday, March 19th at noon.
All entries and winners will be recognized at our award ceremony on Friday, March 23rd 2012 in the MSTF (Medical School Teaching Facility) Building at 685 West Baltimore Street, Baltimore MD at 6pm.
